A Traditional Seaside Holiday

Ever want to take a step back in time, back to when you perhaps to a trip to the seaside with your family? 7 miles from Moonfleet is Weymouth, a traditional seaside town. There are so many things to do with family, it is difficult to know where to start!

The Beaches

In the centre of Weymouth you will find the award winning beach overlooking Weymouth bay. With beautiful golden sands it is the perfect place for kids to build sandcastles and have a paddle in the sea. This is also where you can find some traditional seaside fun with donkey rides, Punch & Judy show and fair ground rides.

For those who would prefer a beach off the beaten track, local beaches such as Castle Cove, Sandsfoot and Hamm Beaches are all only a short drive.  These are all fantastic sandy beaches, some even offer rock pooling too.

Summer Pantomime

It’s behind you! The Weymouth Pavilion plays host to the family pantomime “Pirates of the Pavilion” from 23rd July - 28th August. It is an Egyptian adventure, with colourful costumes, toe-tapping tunes, belly-laughter and spectacular special effects

Along the Harbour

For those who want to get hands on with nature, crabbing along the harbour’s edge is a must. With crab lines and buckets available from the hotel and tips from the staff as what bait is best – you are sure to be successful! Spending time along the harbour watching the local fishing boats come and go, it’s also a great place to grab some fish and chips!

Weymouth Sealife Adventure Park

With over 1000 creatures to discover, an amazing underwater tunnel to walk through, a rock pool adventure and children’s adventure park, this is a full day of family fun. Visit the underwater displays featuring turtles, poison dart frogs and lots of colourful sea creatures. Be sure to make time to check out the otters and also to meet the Humboldt penguins. Be sure to take along your swimming costumes for the “Get Wet Zone”, complete with water jets, slide and splash pool – perfect for children to cool down and run off some energy.
